Brain and Behavior

As a child going through school and even now, growing up in a classroom, you're always being told to "stay focused" we are told this often in sports and just in everyday life. In this TED talk by Medhi Ordikhani-Seyedlar he states that it is very hard to be focused on one thing for a period of time. He did a study based on how the human brain pays attention. He states that there are two different types of attention, there is overt attention and covert attention. in Overt attention, he says that you move your eyes words something in order to pay attention to it. He states for covert attention, you pay attention to something without moving your eyes. The two both are affected by the back of your brain. After this, he then started to talk about the patterns of the brain, where your eyes direct when something is happening.
I liked this video because I have always had a hard time focusing on one thing. My mind is always going in 5 different ways at the same time, so watching this, it really brought recognition of my own life in. I believe that this is a very interesting thing even as someone who is going into the field of education, so i know how to work with my students to help them learn the best way.
